Jewish Quarter Tour + Museum of Jewish History
We'll meet at the designated time in Plaça de Sant Feliu square to begin your guided tour through the Jewish neighborhood of Girona, one of the best preserved in Europe. This district, with its ancient remains from its Roman and Medieval past, was home to one thousand inhabitants during the Middle Ages, making it a significant Jewish community in Spain.
As you explore the narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter, the hometown of Nachmanides, you'll visit the locations of the city's three synagogues. The guided tour will cover the customs and traditions of the Jewish people who lived here, including their tools and house designs. You will also visit the Museum of Jewish History to learn about their way of life.
Your guide will lead you around the streets while explaining the history of the Expulsion of the Jews in 1492, which ended 600 years of coexistence. After three hours of exploring the "Call," the tour will conclude, providing you with insight into the Jewish community's influence in Girona.
