Gjirokastër Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Sheshi Çerçiz Topulli Square to start this guided tour.
We will begin with an introduction to Gjirokastër, then walk through the cobblestone streets of the Old Bazaar quarter, observing the oldest houses and traditional architecture.
Next, we will skirt the citadel of Gjirokastër, learning about its strategic significance during the Ottoman era. We will cross the Zerzebili bridge to reach the neighborhoods of Dunavant and Cfaka, where we will see the tekkes associated with the Bektashi Order.
The last stop will be the Ali Pasha Bridge, a remnant of the aqueduct built by the Ottoman ruler Ali Pashe Tepelena in the 19th century.
After 3 hours of exploring, the tour will conclude with a return to the initial meeting point.
