Isle of Skye & Highlands Tour: 3 Days
Day 1: Glasgow - Lake Lomond - Glencoe - Fort William - Isle of Skye
We'll depart from the meeting point in Glasgow and head northwest towards our first stop in the village of Luss, on the banks of Loch Lomond. Next, we'll travel north through Tyndrum and pass by the wilderness of Rannoch Moor. The tour will take us to Glen Coe Valley to admire the landscape where the 1692 Macdonald Clan massacre took place.
Afterward, we'll go to Fort William for lunch and photo opportunities of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. We'll also stop at Glen Garry and the Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range. The day ends in Portree, a village on the Isle of Skye, where we'll check into our accommodation.
Day 2: Isle of Skye (Cuillin Mountains – Dunvegan – Kilt Rock)
After breakfast, the tour will depart Portree to explore the Isle of Skye. Options include Dunvegan Castle, a trip to Uig, Flora MacDonald’s grave, and the Black Houses. We'll continue to Duntulm Castle for photos of Kilt Rock and a walk to Lealt Falls.
This day concludes with the opportunity to see the Old Man of Storr before returning to Portree.
Day 3: Eilean Donan – Loch Ness – Inverness – Pitlochry - Glasgow
On our return to Edinburgh, we'll see Eilean Donan Castle. The next stop will be Fort Augustus for lunch with views of Loch Ness. The tour will continue south over Laggan and the Grampian mountains, with a last refreshment stop in Pitlochry before arriving in Edinburgh. Your guide will take you to Edinburgh Waverley railway station for the 50-minute train journey back to Glasgow.
