Explore the history of German immigration in Rio Grande do Sul by joining us on this day trip to Nova Petrópolis, where you'll stroll its streets and visit the main monuments!
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the meeting point in Canela or Gramado, whichever you choose upon booking, and set off on this excursion to Nova Petrópolis.
The first immigrants arrived in Nova Petrópolis in 1858 from Pomerania, Bohemia, and Saxony. When we arrive in Nova Petrópolis, we'll review this history by visiting Pedras do Silêncio (Sculpture Park Silent Stones) and Aldeia do Imigrante to learn about the German arrival.
Afterwards, we'll visit Praça das Flores (Praça da República) and continue our exploration at the Green Maze, where we will navigate through cypress trees.
Next, we will go to Casa Sander, settled by immigrants from Bohemia, to enjoy delicacies including jellies with crackers, toast, juice, and tea.
We will then head to the Jardim do Moinho, a natural space combining history and gastronomy, and visit a cosmetics store offering products made with rosehip oil.
We'll finish the day trip to Nova Petrópolis 9 hours later, back at the starting point.
