Quilombo Valley Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll leave from Praça das Etnias and set off on a journey through the history and colonial-era traditions of the Quilombo Valley. We'll immerse ourselves in Brazilian nature, culture, and flavors, all in one day.
We'll start the route by boarding a jardineira, a typical Brazilian bus, until we reach the first stop: the Marcon family's house. Hosts Vicente and Fatima will share the story of their Italian ancestors who immigrated to Brazil. We'll learn about the tools used for corn crops and livestock and taste products they make, such as grape juice, bread, and jams.
Next, we'll visit the Alambique dos Rossas, where owner Romeu Rossa will explain the family business of producing cachaça. We'll observe the entire process, from sugar cane to the final product, and enjoy a tasting.
The last stop will be at the Baretta family property, featuring a century-old half-timbered house typical of German architecture. Jovani Baretta will provide a snack, and we will enjoy live traditional music and dances. Participants are invited to join in the dancing kerb, a traditional dance celebrating the harvest.
After the snack, we'll return to the starting point, arriving four hours after the start.
