Day Trip to the Alpujarras

Lanjarón, Pórtugos, Capilerilla, Pampaneira & Trevélez feature in this excursion to the villages of the Alpujarra. Choose between two routes, with ample opportunities for photography.

Options

When booking, select between two options. Both start at Plaza de las Descalzas at the indicated time and last from 7 to 8 hours:

Lanjarón, Pórtugos, Capilerilla & Pampaneira Excursion

For this option, a bus will take us to the Alpujarra Granadina, known for its picturesque villages. The first stop is the Nasrid bridge of Tablate, where we will discuss the area's Muslim heritage. We will visit Lanjarón, famous for its waters, and explore its castle.

Next, we will visit a viewpoint for stunning views of the Poqueira Valley. The excursion continues to Pórtugos to see the Fuente Agria spring and Chorreón waterfall. We will then go to Capilerilla to experience rural life, including fruit orchards and local architecture.

The final stop is Pampaneira, where you will have 1.5 hours of free time to lunch and explore the village.

Trevélez, Pampaneira & Pórtugos Excursion

On this route, we will also visit the Nasrid bridge of Tablate, the Poqueira Valley viewpoint, and Pórtugos. The trip continues to Trevélez, the highest village in the Alpujarra Granadina, where we will explore its church and fountains, followed by a visit to an Alpujarran ham curing room with a tasting session.

In Trevélez, you will have an hour for lunch. Afterward, we head to Pampaneira, where you will have one hour to explore its streets, including the 16th-century Parish Church of Santa Cruz and the historic washing areas.
