Two Spanish Renaissance gems declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO await us on this excursion to Úbeda and Baeza from Granada. We'll see palaces and churches while exploring the history of these cities.
Úbeda & Baeza Excursion
At 9 am, we'll meet at Plaza de las Descalzas to board a bus to Baeza. The journey will take approximately one and a half hours.
Upon arrival in Baeza, you'll have 4 hours of free time to explore and have lunch in this World Heritage City. Baeza is recognized, alongside Úbeda, as the capital of the Renaissance in Andalusia. Notably, scenes from the movie Alatriste were filmed here.
During your visit, you can see landmarks such as the Fountain of St Mary, the Aliatares Tower, the Cathedral, the Jabalquinto Palace, the Seminary of San Felipe Neri, and the old University of Baeza. A sculpture commemorating the poet Antonio Machado is also located here.
Next, we will return to the bus for our journey to Úbeda, where we will take a guided tour lasting an hour and a half through its historic center, uncovering details of its past.
In Úbeda, we will view the exteriors of significant buildings including the Holy Chapel of El Salvador, the Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares, and the Vazquez de Molina Palace, known as the Palace of the Chains. Following this, you will have an hour and a half of free time for lunch.
The excursion will conclude between 4 and 5 pm, returning to the starting point in Granada.
