Two Spanish Renaissance gems declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO await us on this excursion to Úbeda and Baeza from Granada. We'll see palaces and beautiful churches while exploring the history of these cities.
Úbeda & Baeza Excursion
At 9 am, we'll meet at Plaza de las Descalzas to board a bus for Baeza, a journey lasting about an hour and a half.
Upon arrival, you'll have 4 hours of free time to explore and have lunch in this World Heritage City, considered the Renaissance capital of Andalusia. Notably, some scenes from the movie Alatriste were filmed here.
Iconic sites include the Fountain of St Mary, Aliatares Tower, Cathedral, Jabalquinto Palace, Seminary of San Felipe Neri, and the historic University of Baeza. Also, there is a sculpture of the poet Antonio Machado, commemorating the seven years he lived in Baeza.
Next, we will return to the bus and proceed to Úbeda for a guided tour lasting one and a half hours, focusing on its historic center.
During our walk in Úbeda, we will view significant buildings such as the Holy Chapel of El Salvador, Basilica of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares, and the Vazquez de Molina Palace, known as the Palace of the Chains. You will have an hour and a half of free time for lunch in this picturesque Renaissance city.
The excursion will conclude between 4 and 5 pm, returning to Granada.
