Explore one of Mumbai's most important temples, the Elephanta Caves, featuring ancient stone terraces, statues, and wall carvings dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Description
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and taken to the iconic Gateway of India, where you will board a tourist boat to the Elephanta Caves, a recognized World Heritage Site and one of Mumbai's impressive temples.
After approximately one hour of sailing, you will arrive at Elephanta Island, home to a complex of seven caves. Enjoy the peace of Elephanta as you explore the prominent temples dedicated to the Hindu sun god, Shiva.
The temple walls are adorned with immense carvings depicting various stories from Shiva's life, with the central statue of the three-headed deity representing the god's aspects: creator, protector, and destroyer.
Once your visit to the island concludes, you will be dropped off at the pickup point about 4 hours after your initial pickup.
