Kanheri Caves Half-Day Trip
Early in the morning, an expert guide will pick you up from your hotel before driving to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, where the Buddhist caves of Kanheri are located. This area is an oasis of lush, green vegetation.
We drive deeper into the forest until reaching the Kanheri caves, a network of more than 100 caves with wall paintings, engravings, and Buddhist sculptures made from the 1st century B.C. to the 10th century A.D.
This place was used by Buddhist monks for meditation and as a place of worship, including monasteries, meeting rooms, shrines, and study rooms. Our guide will provide insights into their history and highlight some striking statues.
During the tour, you can enjoy a typical snack from the region. The trip concludes with views over the Sanjay Gandhi National Park from a special vantage point, ideal for capturing memorable photos of your visit to India.
