The spirit of Mumbai lies not in its landmarks, but in its markets. Explore the city’s magical bazaars on this tour and discover its rich history through the most enchanting streets.
Itinerary
Our English-speaking guide will be waiting at the entrance to the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir temple in Mumbai. From there, we head deep into the colours and aromas at the heart of the city. Our first stop is the Bhuleshwar market. Strolling through the narrow streets, you will find diverse products including fruit, vegetables, imitation jewellery, religious objects, rose petals, complements, and household products.
After this first taste of the city centre, we go to the Mumba Devi temple, from which the city got its name. After learning about Mumbai’s history, we will visit the Zaveri Bazaar, the largest jewellery market in the region.
Other markets we will visit include Chor Bazaar, known for its antiques and furniture; Mangaldas market, popular for its boutiques with fine dresses; and Mumbai’s flower market, also called Flower Alley, offering a vibrant experience.
The tour concludes at Crawford Market, founded in 1871, located in a Gothic and Romanesque style building. It is renowned for fruit, vegetables, delicious cheese, and homemade chocolate. Sample some before leaving the tour.
