Slum Tour of Dhavari

Discover the district of Dharavi, one of the largest slum areas in Asia, and witness the reality for many of India’s citizens.

Itinerary

The tour starts near Mahim Station. From there, we proceed to Dharavi, the marginalized neighbourhood of Mumbai, known for being the filming location of Slumdog Millionaire.

The conditions of the inhabitants are tougher than what is shown in the movie. An English-speaking guide provides insights into the history of this area, offering a broader perspective on the contrasting sides of Mumbai.

Participants will meet some residents of the slum, allowing for an engaging discussion about their daily lives. This experience will have a lasting impact.

Finally, we return to the initial meeting point in Mumbai.
