On this tour of Guadalajara, we'll discover the history of one of the oldest cities in Mexico and see its main monuments. Plus, we'll visit the colonial town of Tlaquepaque!
Guadalajara & Tlaquepaque Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel and begin a panoramic tour of Guadalajara, visiting emblematic points of the capital of Jalisco. We'll first stop at the La Minerva roundabout, known for the sculpture honoring the Roman goddess Minerva, and the nearby Arcos de Guadalajara, the ancient access gates to the city.
Next, we'll head to Avenida de Chapultepec, where we'll find remains of an ancient aqueduct and make our way to Calle Libertad, a traditional area showcasing 19th-century architecture. We will then visit the Expiatory Temple of the Blessed Sacrament, notable for its Gothic style.
Our tour continues through the historic center to see the Metropolitan Cathedral, Santos Degollado Theater, Cabañas Cultural Institute, and Plaza Liberación. We'll then proceed to Tlaquepaque, where you'll have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch and to explore the cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. You can visit the 17th-century Church of San Pedro or browse local handicraft stores.
Before heading back to Guadalajara, we'll stop at a traditional sweets store to taste local delicacies. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Guadalajara 7-8 hours after the initial pickup.
