Explore one of the most famous archaeological sites in Jalisco, see its enigmatic circular pyramids, and visit the Phil Weigand Museum on this exciting excursion to Guachimontones!

Tour of Guachimontones

At 10 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Guadalajara and drive to the archaeological site of Guachimontones.

After an hour's drive by minibus, we'll visit the Phil Weigand Interpretive Center. Here, we'll begin to learn about the history of this ancient pre-Hispanic settlement known for its mysterious circular pyramids. We'll see maps, murals, models, farming tools, and ceramic pieces that will help us imagine what this site was like more than 2,000 years ago.

Guachimontones has been declared a World Heritage Site and was not discovered until 1970. We will learn about the rituals conducted here as we explore its archaeological ruins.

During the visit, we'll admire the circular pyramids and see the ball game courts and important buildings of this ancient settlement.

Finally, we'll return to the vehicle and conclude the excursion, dropping you off back at your hotel between 3 and 4 pm.
