Tour of Guachimontones
At 10 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Guadalajara and drive to the archaeological site of Guachimontones.
After an hour's drive by minibus, we will visit the Phil Weigand Interpretive Center. Here, we will begin to learn about the history of this ancient pre-Hispanic settlement known for its mysterious circular pyramids. We will see maps, murals, models, farming tools, and ceramic pieces that illustrate the archaeological site's history from more than 2,000 years ago.
Guachimontones has been declared a World Heritage Site and was discovered in 1970. We will explore the archaeological ruins to learn about the rituals conducted here.
During the visit, we will admire the circular pyramids, as well as the ball game courts and significant buildings of this ancient settlement.
Finally, we will return to the vehicle and conclude the excursion by dropping you off at your hotel between 3 and 4 pm.
