Embark on a captivating journey to Tonalá and Tlaquepaque, two charming colonial towns in Jalisco, where tranquility and craftsmanship harmoniously coexist.
Exploration of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque
Your adventure begins with a pickup in Guadalajara at the scheduled time, leading us to the small town of Tonalá. Here, we will delve into the town's rich history while visiting prominent landmarks such as the Parish of Santiago Apostol and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Known as a notable artisan hub, Tonalá is a place where creativity flourishes.
As we wander through the town, take in the meticulously crafted artworks made of blown glass, ceramics, and iron while admiring its historic colonial mansions. A visit to the Tonalá street market will showcase the vibrant community atmosphere as locals gather to purchase unique handicrafts.
Next, we set off to Tlaquepaque, renowned for its stunning colonial architecture and exceptional wood and leather crafts. Strolling along the cobblestone paths, one can explore the varied craft stalls and uncover the rich narrative of this municipality established in 1530.
Along the way, we will stop by several workshops, where you can observe artisans at work and gain insights into their techniques. After this, you'll have free time to explore Tlaquepaque on your own, possibly savoring a meal at a local restaurant.
After your time in Tlaquepaque, we will return to Guadalajara, completing our excursion and dropping you off at your hotel approximately 6 to 7 hours after the initial pickup.
