Granada Geopark Jeep Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Plaza de la Constitución in Guadix where the jeeps will be waiting. We'll board and begin exploring the mountains and rock formations in the Granada Geopark and the Alhama and Fardes valleys.
Before leaving Guadix, we'll stop in the cave district to see the numerous dwellings carved out of the clay hills.
After taking photos, we'll head to Purullena to visit the End of the World Viewpoint, located on a plateau in the Alhama River Valley. This observation point offers views of the Sierra Nevada and the badlands of the Guadix region. We will explain the area's transformation over the centuries.
Our jeep tour will continue to the Marchal Ravine, a natural monument with peculiar rock formations sculpted by wind and water erosion.
One of the last stops will be at the Covarrones and Tía Micaela Visitor Centre, which served as a refuge by the Amazighs during the medieval period. We will discuss its history as we travel through the different sections of the cave.
Afterwards, we'll admire the views of the Fardes River Valley as we return to Guadix.
We'll conclude the tour back at the starting point after a total of 4 hours.
