Tequila Factory & Archaeological Site
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Guanajuato and head to Pénjamo, home to the Corralejo factory . Prepare to learn about this tequila factory from the 18th century.
After a 1.5-hour journey, we will enter one of the most famous distilleries in Guanajuato. During this guided visit , we will see how agave is used to produce traditional tequila.
We will discuss the necessary phases to create this drink, from the harvest to the ageing process, including ovens, mills, and fermentation. Additionally, you can participate in a tasting of this drink.
After the visit, you will have free time to eat before boarding the minibus again towards the Plazuela archaeological zone. This site is noted for the great preservation of its pyramids. We will explore the squares, temples and palaces while explaining the significance of these constructions in Mesoamerica.
We will learn about the Chupicuaro culture and the related Toltecs during our visit.
After a 9-hour tour, we will conclude the day back at your hotel.
