Guanajuato Hiking Tour

La Bufa Hill, the Sierra de Santa Rosa, and the Presa de la Purísima are three areas for hill walking in the outskirts of Guanajuato.

Description

We will collect you from your hotel at the scheduled time to begin this hill walking tour through the forests of Guanajuato. The multiple routes offer a unique experience of the nature of inland Mexico.

Depending on the season, we will hike in one of the three areas near Guanajuato. One potential location is La Bufa Hill, known for its diverse flowers and trees, where we will enjoy the tranquillity of the forest away from city noise.

If we visit the Sierra de Santa Rosa, we will explore trails where we can hear chuïnes, small blue birds similar to sparrows, and admire the holm oak forest, learning about the area's mining history and old transport paths.

Additionally, we will learn about local tree species such as willow trees, capulines, wild olive trees, ash trees, mesquites, colorines, and palo blancos. Note that water from three rivers, Guanajuato, Chapín, and Trinidad, is directed to this reservoir.

The tour concludes back at your hotel after 3 hours of hiking.
