Guanajuato Walking Tour
At 10:30 am on the morning of the tour, we'll meet at the steps of the Collegiate Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato. From here, we'll begin a guided walking tour of this World Heritage City.
First, we'll admire the Juárez Theater with its nine bronze Greek-inspired sculptures and see the façade of the Church of San Diego, which houses a former Franciscan convent from the 17th century.
Next, we'll pass by Monumento a la Paz, created by sculptor Jesús Contreras, marking the end of the War of Independence. Nearby, we will see the University of Guanajuato and the old Government Palace.
Continuing through Guanajuato, we'll visit the iconic Callejón del Beso to learn about the story of forbidden love between Don Carlos and Carmen. Our route will then take us to Plaza San Roque and the historical Alhóndiga de Granaditas.
Additionally, we will explore Museo Iconográfico del Quijote, Museo del Pueblo, and Museo Casa Diego Rivera, the birthplace of the artist.
At 1:30 pm, we will conclude the tour at this last point.
