Trancoso, Marialva & Linhares da Beira Excursion

We will meet at Praça Luís de Camões in Guarda to set off on this trip to Trancoso, Marialva, and Linhares da Beira, three of Portugal's historic villages.

First, we will visit Trancoso, where we will review the history and its role in the country's borders. We will see the remains of its medieval walls and the exteriors of the Castle of Trancoso, part of the Route of Historical Villages (GR22). After exploring Trancoso, we will proceed to Marialva.

Upon arrival at Marialva, the Castle of Marialva will be a focal point. We will explore its medieval streets and learn about this town's stories, including a visit to the churches of Marialva and the main square.

Our final stop will be Linhares da Beira, where we will view one of the best-preserved castles in Portugal and its unique urban layout. We will also visit Misericordia Church and the Igreja Matriz, both of significant historical value. Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Guarda after a total of 4 hours.
