On this coffee tour of Guatapé, we'll visit a coffee farm and discover the secrets of one of Colombia's most famous products, including the growing, collection, and drying processes.
Description
At your chosen time, we'll meet on Calle 32 #28-29 in Guatapé. From there, we'll travel to the coffee farm in the Vereda Bonilla neighborhood, located 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
Upon arrival, a local farmer will show us how the coffee beans are grown. We'll observe the careful selection of seeds and the daily control of their germination through proper irrigation techniques.
The next step involves collecting the coffee beans, which initially appear reddish. The beans are then stored in sacks and transported to the pressing plant, where they are ground before moving to the drying area.
Inbetween phases, we'll learn intriguing facts about Colombian coffee, one of the most exported products in South America, including surprising statistics on annual exports.
We'll conclude our visit by tasting some local coffee, paying attention to its aromas, colours, and taste.
After 1.5 hours, we'll return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
