On this coffee tour of Guatapé, we will visit a coffee farm and learn about various processes related to coffee production.
Description
At your chosen time, we will meet on Calle 32 #28-29 in Guatapé. From there, we will travel to the coffee farm in Vereda Bonilla, located 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
At the farm, our local farmer will explain how coffee beans are grown. The seeds are selected carefully, and daily germination must be controlled using appropriate irrigation techniques.
The next phase involves collecting the coffee beans, which initially appear reddish. These beans are stored in sacks and taken to the pressing plant, where they are ground and moved to the drying area.
During the tour, we will learn interesting facts about Colombian coffee, one of South America's main exports. You will discover the yearly tonnage sent to other countries.
The visit will conclude with a tasting of local coffee, where you can appreciate the aromas, colours, and taste that define this product.
After 1.5 hours, we will return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
