Guatapé Coffee Tour

On this coffee tour of Guatapé, we'll visit a coffee farm and discover the secrets of one of Colombia's most famous products. We'll learn about the growing, collection, and drying processes.

Description

At your chosen time, we'll meet on Calle 32 #28-29 in Guatapé, then we will travel to the coffee farm in Vereda Bonilla, just 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.

At the farm, our local farmer will show us how the coffee beans are grown. The seeds are carefully chosen, and every day, the germination of the seeds must be controlled with the correct irrigation.

Next, we will observe the collection of coffee beans, initially reddish in color. These beans are stored in sacks and transported to the pressing plant. Here, we will see how they are ground and then moved to the drying area.

During the visit, we will learn interesting facts about Colombian coffee, one of the most exported products in South America.

We will conclude the farm visit by tasting some local coffee, noting its complex aromas, colours, and taste.

After a duration of 1.5 hours, we will return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
