San Rafael Cocoa Tour

In this cocoa tour around San Rafael, we'll discover the process of making one of Colombia's most famous products, from its plantation to the delicious chocolate it becomes.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Calle 32 in Guatapé to begin this cocoa tour around San Rafael. We will travel to a San Rafael cocoa farm. Upon arrival, we'll walk about 200 metres (656 feet) to the main house, where we will be welcomed with a refreshing drink.

We will explore the world of Colombian cocoa, touring the farm with an expert who will explain the steps of the process, including cultivation, flowering, and harvesting. Following this, we will visit the wood stove for roasting cocoa beans, selecting the best seeds. We will observe the removal of the shell, the grinding process, and the extraction of cocoa used for making a chocolate bar. Once it has cooled, it will be ready to eat!

After this optional demonstration, we will walk to the river for a chocolate exfoliation ritual. Finally, we will return to Guatapé, with arrival at your hotel scheduled 4 hours after pick-up.
