After picking you up from your hotel in Juan Dolio at 9 am, we'll board the safari trucks for a tour of the sugar cane plantations in the Dominican Republic.

We will drive through the south of the island over varied terrain to reach the sugar cane plantations surrounding the village of Benérito. You will visit the weighing station and have the opportunity to taste locally-grown sugar cane.

Next, we will head to a nearby village, or batey, to learn about local life. The tour then continues to the city of Higüey, where you'll learn about cigar production in an organic tobacco factory.

After visiting the market of Higüey to explore tropical fruits, we will enter the Basilica of the Virgin of Altagracia, the city's main church. A typical Dominican lunch will follow.

The highlight will be a boat trip on the Chavón River, where you will admire the natural environment and see iguanas, exotic birds, and various plants. Prepare your camera!

Finally, we'll return to the safari truck to head back to Juan Dolio, arriving at hotels by 5 pm.
