Santo Domingo City Tour

Between 7 am and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juan Dolio to take you to Santo Domingo. Our first stop will be Tres Ojos National Park to explore its cave and freshwater lake. Afterward, we will view the Columbus Lighthouse before proceeding to admire the exterior of the Presidential Palace. We will then enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant featuring typical dishes such as rice, meat stew, and beans.

Post-lunch, we'll visit the colonial area of Santo Domingo, including the temple of Santa María de la Encarnación, also known as Catedral Primada de América. We'll visit the Plaza de España and discover the Alcázar de Colón, followed by a walk along Las Damas Avenue, passing the National Pantheon and the 18th-century Church of the Jesuits.

We'll explore the pedestrian streets of the Colonial area, visiting a handicraft store to learn about Larimar and Amber. You'll have free time for shopping on Calle El Conde or to relax in one of the area's squares. The tour concludes at the Malecón for views of the Caribbean Sea, before returning to Juan Dolio, expected around 5 pm.

Temporary closures

The Alcazar de Colon is closed for remodeling. This visit will be substituted with a tour of the Museum of the Royal Houses (Museo de las Casas Reales).
