Saona Island Beach Expedition

Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Juan Dolio between 7 and 9 am. From there, we will head towards Bayahíbe, where we'll board a boat bound for the enchanting Saona Island.

On our way to the island, we will make a stop at the stunning beach of La Palmilla, a tropical gem nestled within Cotubanamá National Park. Here, you will have the opportunity to swim and bask in the warm Caribbean waters. Upon reaching Saona Island, we will explore the idyllic beaches of La Caleta and Mano Juan, allowing you ample free time to unwind and appreciate the breathtaking scenery until lunch.

Feeling hungry? Enjoy a traditional meal by the shore, featuring a delightful spread of rice, meat, salad, pasta, and a refreshing soft drink.

Once our appetites are satisfied, we will take a leisurely stroll through the town of Mano Juan. Here, we’ll visit charming wooden homes and the sea turtle conservation center, where dedicated staff work on the hatching and care of young turtles.

Next, we will proceed to the exquisite beach and lagoon of Los Flamencos, where you can indulge in a soothing swim in the vibrant turquoise waters. After relaxing, we'll return to the boat and embark on a tour of the nearby mangrove region, where you will encounter various species of black, red, white, and button mangroves. You can even dive into the water to observe tropical fish up close and search for the renowned starfish that make this area their home.

As we head back, let's raise a glass with a cocktail made from fine Dominican rum. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Juan Dolio, expected between 5 and 6:30 pm.
