Join us on an adventure through the Andean mountains on our Cajas National Park Hiking Activity. We'll set off from Guayaquil and spend the day exploring this natural area.
Cajas National Park Hiking Activity
We will pick you up at 6:30 am from your hotel in Guayaquil and head to Cajas National Park in the Andes Mountains. Upon arrival, we will begin our 4-hour hiking activity.
We will take the García Moreno trail to observe the divided waters, with some flowing to the Amazon and others to the Pacific Ocean. It is said that many hikers have tried to stay here overnight but did not survive the cold nights.
We will ascend to an altitude of over 6,560 feet (2,000 metres) while enjoying the misty forests, moorlands, and the Chorro de Plata Waterfall, which features nearly 300 feet (90 metres) of cascading water. We will also encounter medicinal plants and discuss their healing properties.
During the hike, we will pass through ferns, orchids, and mosses, and, if we are fortunate, we may see caracaras, hummingbirds, toucans, and the majestic Andean condor. After walking around 6 miles (10 kilometres), we will return to the starting point.
We will then travel back to your hotel in Guayaquil, where we will drop you off at 2:30 pm.
