Cajas National Park Hiking Experience

Hello! At 6:30 am, our team will collect you from your hotel in Guayaquil to begin our journey toward the Cajas National Park, located in the heart of the Andes Mountains. Upon arrival, we will commence our 4-hour hiking adventure.

Our path will lead us along the García Moreno trail, where we will witness the divided waters, flowing in separate directions towards the Amazon and the Pacific Ocean. It is said that many trekkers have attempted to spend the night in this area, only to be overwhelmed by the frigid temperatures and unable to greet the morning.

As we gain elevation to over 6,560 feet (2,000 meters), we will be captivated by the enchanting misty forests, moorlands, and the breathtaking Chorro de Plata Waterfall, which gracefully cascades nearly 300 feet (90 meters) down the mountainside. Along the way, we will also encounter medicinal plants and discuss their therapeutic qualities.

During our trek, we will meander through lush landscapes filled with ferns, orchids, mosses, and, if fortune smiles upon us, we may spot caracaras, hummingbirds, toucans, and the magnificent Andean condor. After approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) of exploration, we will return to our starting point.

At the conclusion of our adventure, we will make our way back to your hotel in Guayaquil, aiming to arrive by 2:30 pm.
