Guayaquil Municipal Museum

After being picked up from your hotel in Guayaquil at your selected time, we will proceed to the historical center of the city for a guided tour of the Municipal Museum.

In the Pre-Hispanic Room, you will encounter a plethora of archaeological pieces providing insight into the history of this region of Latin America during the pre-Columbian period. We will then move to the Colonial Room, where objects related to the Spanish conquerors who arrived in the Americas in the fifteenth century are exhibited. The visit will reveal the significant transformations that occurred in the New World from that point onward.

During the tour, we will also visit other captivating sections such as the Religious Art Room and the Numismatic Room. An important stop will be at the exhibition on yellow fever in Guayaquil, which showcases the severe impacts of this disease. Lastly, we will explore fossils of various insects, birds, and mammals in the Natural History Pavilion of Ecuador.

After approximately 1.5 hours of guided exploration at the museum, we will return to the minibus and take you back to your hotel.

HOW IT WORKS?

You will be picked up from your hotel at the chosen time and taken to the Municipal Museum, where you will embark on a 1.5-hour guided tour. The tour includes visits to various important exhibits, such as the Pre-Hispanic Room, the Colonial Room, the Religious Art Room, and the Numismatic Room. An informative look at the effects of yellow fever will also be featured. At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel.
