Elbphilharmonie Guided Tour Itinerary

Meet the group outside the Elbphilharmonie and start a one-hour guided tour of this landmark. An English-speaking guide will reveal the secrets of this edifice and its square, re-inaugurated in 2017. The concert hall is located where one of the old warehouses of the traditional Ship Harbor of Hamburg once stood, used until 1900 for storing tobacco, tea, and cocoa beans. Learn why this spot was chosen for the construction of the Elbphilharmonie.

The façade features wave-like elements and a glass top. Inside, visit the central square via the largest escalator in Europe.

During the plaza tour, admire the contrast between the glass structure and the historic loading docks. Learn about the history of the building and discover its ideal acoustics.

Before the tour concludes, ascend to the observation deck, 37 meters high, for panoramic views of Hamburg. This terrace includes several restaurants, offering appetizers and drinks (not included in the tour).
