Description
Day 1: El Djem – Matmata – Douz
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Hammamet and head to the El Djem amphitheater, the third-largest amphitheater in the world, holding up to 30,000 spectators. After exploring El Djem, we proceed to the Matmata cave-houses in the Amazigh area, where you will have approximately one hour of free time for lunch (not included).
Next, we'll enter the Douz desert, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, you can try out a quad bike or camel ride for an additional fee. After our desert exploration, we will head to a hotel in Douz for the night.
Day 2: Douz – Chott Djerid – Oasis - Kairouan
After breakfast (not included), we'll visit Chott El Djerid, Tunisia's great salt lake, which stretches 250 kilometers (155 miles). Following this, we’ll go to the Atlas range to see the mountain oasis of Chebika and Tamerza. The final stop will be Kairouan, Islam's fourth holy city, where we will visit the Great Mosque and learn about its significance.
The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Hammamet.
Important Information
Tickets for the museums and monuments during the trip must be paid for at the ticket office, totaling about 15EUR.The camel ride lasts one hour and costs 15EUR per person; the quad ride lasts 45 minutes and costs 25EUR per person.
