Description

Day 1: El Djem – Matmata – Douz

Pickup from your hotel in Hammamet will begin the tour at the El Djem amphitheater, the third-largest in the world, which could accommodate 30,000 spectators for gladiator fights. After this, visit the Matmata cave-houses in the Amazigh area, where you will have approximately one hour of free time for lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

Following this, the tour will enter the Douz desert, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, you can try a quad bike or camel ride for an additional fee. After the day's adventures, rest at a hotel in Douz.

Day 2: Douz – Chott Djerid – Oasis - Kairouan

After breakfast (not included), the tour will head to Chott El Djerid, Tunisia's great salt lake, stretching 250 kilometers (155 miles). Next, visit the mountain oasis of Chebika and Tamerza. The final stop is Kairouan, Islam’s fourth holy city, where you will visit the Great Mosque and learn about its significance in Islam. The tour concludes with a return to your hotel in Hammamet.

Tickets for museums and monuments must be purchased at the ticket office, totaling about 15EUR.Optional camel rides last one hour for 15EUR per person, and quad rides last 45 minutes for 25EUR per person.
