Experience the essence of the Casablanca neighborhood on this engaging free tour, where you'll witness historic landmarks such as the castle of the Three Kings of Morro and the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña. Be present for the iconic cannon firing ceremony in Havana, a unique cultural highlight.
Description
Our journey begins at Aracelio Iglesias Park, where we will gather as scheduled near the ferry terminal. Setting sail on the Lanchita de Regla, one of the cherished boats of Havana, we will embark on our adventure.
Within a brief 10-minute crossing, we'll navigate across the bay of Havana to the Casablanca pier. Upon arrival in this part of the Regla district, the tour will commence as we take in the majestic Christ of Havana. Adjacent to this impressive 20-meter figure lies the Comandancia del Che, notable for housing Ernesto Guevara after Cuba's revolutionary victory.
Our exploration continues at the Military History Museum. This outdoor exhibit features significant artifacts, including the wreckage of a U.S. Air Force aircraft downed during the Cuban missile crisis of October 1962. Close by, the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century.
Next, we will visit the castle of the Three Kings of Morro, a pivotal stronghold during the Spanish colonial period in Cuba. At this bastion, you’ll also find the Morro lighthouse, where our tour will conclude by 8 pm.
We encourage you to linger in the area after the tour to participate in Havana’s cannonazo ceremony, held daily at 9 pm in the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña.
Regla Boat
Please note that, for the time being, the tour excludes the boat trip on the Lanchita de Regla. Instead, the initial segment will be conducted via bus.
