On this free tour through the Casablanca neighborhood, we'll visit the castle of the Three Kings of Morro and the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, where attendees can experience the Havana cannon shooting ceremony.
Description
The tour begins at Aracelio Iglesias Park, where we will meet next to the ferry terminal at the designated time. We will then take the Lanchita de Regla, a popular boat in Havana, to cross the bay of Havana to Casablanca pier, a 10-minute journey. Upon arrival, we will start the tour by viewing the Christ of Havana statue and the Comandancia del Che, where Ernesto Guevara stayed post-revolution.
Next, we will proceed to the Military History Museum, home to the wreckage of a U.S. Air Force plane shot down during the 1962 missile crisis. Nearby is the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, established in the 18th century. The tour continues to the castle of the Three Kings of Morro, a significant site from the Spanish colonial era, finishing at the Morro lighthouse by 8 pm.
After the tour, we suggest staying in the area to attend the Havana's cañonazo ceremony, occurring daily at 9 pm at the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña.
Regla Boat
Currently, the tour does not include the Lanchita de Regla boat trip. Instead, the initial part of the journey will be conducted by bus.
