Casablanca Neighborhood Free Tour
- 3 Stunden
On this free tour through the Casablanca neighborhood, we'll see the castle of the Three Kings of Morro and the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, where you can attend the famous Havana cannon shooting ceremony.
Description
The tour begins at Aracelio Iglesias Park, where we meet next to the ferry terminal. Initially, we will travel by bus instead of the usual Lanchita de Regla boat. After the bus portion, we will reach the Casablanca pier. Upon disembarking in the Regla district, the tour will start with the famous Christ of Havana. Nearby is the Comandancia del Che, a significant site related to Ernesto Guevara post-revolution.
We will then visit the Military History Museum, featuring a wreck of a U.S. Air Force plane shot down during the October 1962 missile crisis. Adjacent to the museum is the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña, built in the 18th century.
Next, we explore the castle of the Three Kings of Morro, an important colonial fortification. The tour concludes at 8 pm, near the Morro lighthouse.
After the tour, attendees are encouraged to remain in the area to witness the Havana's cañonazo ceremony, held every day at 9 pm at the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña.
Regla Boat
Currently, the tour does not include the trip in the Lanchita de Regla but will involve bus transport for the first part.
