Havana Cannon Firing Ceremony

  • 4 - 5 Stunden

Come and enjoy the famous cannon firing ceremony in Havana, a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture and tradition of the Cuban capital!

Havana Cannon Firing Ceremony

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the indicated time and make our way to the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, known locally as La Cabaña, where the famous cannon firing ceremony takes place.

The cannon blasting ceremony is a Havana tradition that dates back to the colonial era. Every evening at 9 pm, a cannon is fired to inform Havana's residents of the nightly closure of the city gates.

This ritual originated in 1774 when the city had to defend against pirate attacks. The cannon was initially fired from a ship in the harbour, later moving to the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress. The views from this location are notable.

While pirate attacks are no longer a threat, the cannon blasting ceremony has remained a tradition, with guards dressing in historic uniforms as if it were the 18th century.

After enjoying the ceremony, we'll return to your hotel in Havana, arriving 4 hours later.

Cannon Firing Ceremony with Dinner

If you choose this option, at the end of the ceremony, we'll enjoy dinner in a local restaurant. The menu includes a starter, a main course, a dessert, and a drink of your choice: juice, soda, or beer.
