Havana Walking Tour
We'll meet at 10 am by the José Martí statue in Central Park to start this tour of the Cuban Revolution. From there we'll walk to the Bacardi building, the old headquarters of the rum brand, and discuss its fate after 1959.
Next, we will walk past a grocery store to learn about the country's food rationing. Additionally, we will explore the relationship between the Cuban government and the Catholic Church through Operation Peter Pan, which relocated over 14,000 children from Cuba to the United States.
We will proceed to the Museum of the Revolution, where we will see the Granma Yacht, used by Fidel Castro for the Bay of Pigs invasion. After leaving the museum, we'll visit the Spanish Embassy and a primary school to discuss education in Cuba since the revolution.
The next stop will be the National Capitol Building. After admiring its architecture, we'll take a bus to the Plaza de la Revolución, discussing the history of this transport during the 20-minute journey.
In the Plaza de la Revolución, we will view its iconic building featuring Che Guevara. The tour will conclude here at 1 pm.
