Havana Walking Tour
We'll meet at 10 am by the José Martí statue in Central Park to start the tour. We will walk to the Bacardi building, discussing its history since 1959. Then, we will pass a grocery store to learn about food rationing and the Cuban government’s relationship with the Catholic Church, specifically Operation Peter Pan. This operation transported over 14,000 children from Cuba to the United States. Next, we will visit the Museum of the Revolution to see the Granma Yacht related to the Bay of Pigs invasion. After leaving the museum, we will go to the Spanish Embassy and continue to a primary school to understand education since the revolution.
Our next stop will be the National Capitol Building. Here, we will admire its architecture before taking a bus to Plaza de la Revolución. During this 20-minute journey, we will discuss the history of public transport in Havana. At Plaza de la Revolución, we will see the iconic building featuring Che Guevara. The tour concludes at 1 pm.
