During this visit to the National Capitol of Cuba in Havana, we will explore the interior of this iconic building.
Description
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the steps to the National Capitol of Cuba in Havana to begin our exploration. The National Capitol is one of the most representative buildings in the country, featuring large doors that lead us inside. We will visit the notable Hall of the Lost Steps.
As we proceed through the building, we will observe its ornate decorations and impressive stained glass windows. Information on its recent restoration and its significance as a representation of political power in Cuba will be provided.
Next, we will see The Republic, a bronze sculpture of the Greek goddess Athena that stands almost 18 metres tall, making it the third tallest indoor statue in the world.
We will also visit the Tomb of the Unknown Mambí, an important figure in the Cuban independence struggle, and learn about the furniture decoration crafted by a prestigious London-based company.
After 3 hours, we will conclude this tour back at the starting point.
