A 19th-century shipwreck rests at the bottom of the sea off Havana's coast. This snorkelling activity allows you to explore the wreck and learn about its history.

Snorkelling in Havana

Set in the late 19th century during the war involving Spain, the United States, and Cuba, remnants of this conflict lie beneath the Caribbean Sea. We will begin with a pickup at 9:30 am from the entrance of Havana's National Museum of Fine Arts in a classic 1950s American car.

After a 30-minute drive to the beach located 10 kilometers east of Havana, participants will receive an introductory class that includes warm-up exercises and basic safety rules. Following this, snorkelling gear will be provided. You will be accompanied by two guides equipped with buoyancy aids for added safety.

Depending on sea conditions and group fitness levels, snorkellers will swim to one of two shipwrecks: the City of Alexandria (300 meters from shore, one hour round trip) or the SS Olivette (750 meters from shore, one and a half hours round trip). The SS Olivette sank in 1918 and the City of Alexandria in 1893, both significant in Cuban history. After exploring, participants will return to shore to enjoy a refreshing coconut water.

We will return to the starting point at 2 pm in the classic American car.
