Volcanoes National Park Hike
If you're on the Island of Hawaii and seeking adventure, a hike around the Volcanoes National Park is essential. We'll meet at the indicated time at K?lauea Visitor Center to begin this hiking route.
Firstly, we'll descend into the Halema?uma?u Crater of K?lauea Volcano. Within the first mile, we'll witness remnants of an active volcano, observing steam vents and sulphur banks.
As our path continues, we'll walk through a rainforest filled with tree ferns, ohia trees, and honeycreeper birds, showcasing the adaptations allowing them to thrive in the volcanic environment.
Upon reaching the bottom of the K?lauea crater, we'll view the K?lauea lava lake. This pool of molten lava is remarkable. We'll take a moment to appreciate this extraordinary creation before resuming our hike.
To conclude this route, we'll hike to a viewpoint with stunning views of the K?lauea crater and Mauna Loa in the distance. There is a chance we may witness a K?lauea eruption.
After a total of 3 hours hiking around Volcanoes National Park, we'll return to the starting point and conclude the experience.
