At the indicated time, we'll meet at Aleksanterinkatu Street to start this tour of architecture in Helsinki. This tour will uncover the secrets of the most important buildings in the Finnish capital.
We'll explore the city to discover how it has changed over time and how this is reflected in its architecture, including a mixture of styles such as neoclassicism, Nordic classicism, modernism, and Art Deco, among others.
The National Library of Finland and Helsinki Cathedral will be two of the first monuments we observe. As we admire their facades, we'll delve into the construction of these monuments in the 19th century .
Next, we'll visit the Pohjola building and access the Jugendsal Room, showcasing national Finnish romance architecture. We'll detail these elements, and we will also see the Academic Library and the notable Eliel Saarinen train station.
After 3 hours, we'll conclude the tour outside the Central Library Oodi.
