Chania, Kournas Lake & Rethymno Day Trip

At 7:30 am, we will gather at the meeting point in Heraklion and head west along the coast of Crete to Chania, our first stop.

In Chania, we will explore the Old Town, the harbor, the Venetian fortress, and the Turkish mosques. You will have free time to dine at a local restaurant and continue exploring the city. Afterward, we will travel to Kournas Lake, known for its extensive vegetation and freshwater habitat.

We will tour the area to discover its flora and fauna, including eels and two-color turtles. You will also have time to relax and swim in the lagoon.

Our final stop is Rethymno, where we will have a guided tour to visit the 16th-century Venetian fortress, the Rimondi Fountain, and the Loggia, along with various mosques.

At the end of the day, you will be driven back to the meeting point in Heraklion, arriving around 7:30 pm.
