If you want to learn about the history of Crete and discover all about the Minoan culture, this guided tour of the Heraklion Archaeological Museum is a must.
Tour Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of Hari’s Creperiê and proceed to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum for the guided tour.
The museum features the largest collection of Minoan art in the world, with pieces dating back to 6000 BC and spanning from the Neolithic to Roman times. It is considered one of the most important museums in Europe.
The exhibition comprises 27 rooms, including the Minoan collection, the Minoan frescoes and the historical period. The tour highlights the oldest finds, including millennia-old everyday items and weapons.
Key objects include the Minoan snake goddess figurines, the fresco of the Prince of the Lilies, and a Minoan gold ring depicting a ritual. Additionally, we will observe Minoan pottery featuring birds and fish.
After 2 hours of exploring, we will conclude the activity at the starting point.
Ticket Not Included
The entrance fee to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is not included. Until March 31, 2025, the price is 6EUR per person; from April 1, 2025, the price will range from 6EUR to 12EUR per person.
