Heraklion Food Tour

At the scheduled time, we'll meet by the Statue of the Unknown Soldier in Eleftherias Square to begin our Heraklion food tour, exploring Crete's culinary scene.

Throughout the tour, we'll make 8 stops in Heraklion's historic center to taste traditional products and discuss the characteristics of Cretan gastronomy compared to other Mediterranean diets.

We will start with a Greek coffee, learning its cultural significance and the art of cup-reading to interpret coffee grounds. Additionally, we will enjoy bougatsa cake from Heraklion.

Next, we will visit a local market to sample olives, cheese, biscuits, and Cretan olive oil. During this part of the tour, we will interact with professionals such as bakers, fishmongers, butchers, and cheesemongers, who will share insights into Cretan cuisine.

Our gastronomic adventure will also include organic meats, fried snails, and Cretan wines.

After 4 hours of exploration and tasting, we will conclude our food tour back at the starting point.
