Sarakina Gorge Hiking Tour

On this hiking tour of the Sarakina Gorge, we'll discover one of the most spectacular gorges in inland Crete, where the waters of the Kriopotamos River create several waterfalls and natural ponds.

Sarakina Gorge Hiking Tour

After picking you up between 7:30 and 8:30 am at your hotel in Heraklion, we'll drive in a jeep to the interior of the island. The car will stop at the entrance of the Sarakina Gorge, where we'll start the hike through this narrow gorge. The hike will proceed according to the group's characteristics, with stops to explore the unique geology.

We will climb steps carved into rocks, and at times, tree trunks will serve as ladders. This effort will lead us to an area where the Kriopotamos river flows through the gorge, forming beautiful waterfalls and natural ponds. In summer, a refreshing dip in these waterfalls is possible. Throughout the year, we will enjoy the landscapes and take a break for a picnic that includes an energy bar, a piece of fruit, juice, and mineral water.

Finally, we'll return to the starting point and then back to your hotel in Heraklion between 1:30 and 3:30 pm.
