Embark on a day trip to explore one of Mexico's most stunning coastal regions with this excursion to Bahía de Kino and Sonora starting from Hermosillo.
Day Trip to Bahía de Kino
Your adventure begins with a 10 am pickup from your hotel in Hermosillo, followed by a comfortable bus journey to the coastal community of Bahía de Kino.
The first stop on our journey will be the renowned Bosque de Sahuaros, a quintessential representation of the Sonoran Desert. Here, you'll stroll amidst towering cacti, some reaching heights of 15 meters (49.2 ft) and being over 200 years old. As we walk, you will discover the vital role of sahuaros as ecological sentinels, providing shelter for birds, acting as natural water supplies, and holding profound spiritual significance for local indigenous communities.
Continuing on, we will arrive at the Bahía de Kino pier, where you can snap photos with the iconic and vibrant sign and enjoy breathtaking panoramic vistas of the coastline. For those interested, a visit to the Seris Ethnic Museum can deepen your understanding of the Conca'ac culture and showcase ancient ironwood artefacts. Afterwards, you will have an hour to relax and savor lunch at Mariscos Bahía Restaurant.
To conclude the day, take another hour to revel in a refreshing swim at the beach. We will then return to Hermosillo, ensuring you are back at your hotel by approximately 8 pm.
