On this 4-day tour through the Jesuit Missions of Sonora, we will explore the temples and towns established by significant missionaries in Mexico.

Sonoran Desert Mission Churches 4-Day Tour

Day 1: Hermosillo - Caborca

We will meet at Hermosillo Airport and travel to Trincheras. After some free time for lunch, we will visit the archaeological site of Cerro De Trincheras, dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Next, we will continue to Caborca, founded by Eusebio Francisco Kino in 1693. Here we will see the Franciscan Church of the Immaculate Conception, Plaza de Armas, and Cerro de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Accommodation will be at a hotel in Caborca for the night, allowing for dinner at your leisure.

Day 2: Caborca - Magdalena de Kino

After breakfast, we will visit Rancho La Proveedora to view ancient petroglyphs. A picnic lunch will be provided before we begin the Ruta de las Misiones, visiting Pitiquito, Altar, Oquitoa, Atil, Tubutama, and San Ignacio. The day concludes in Magdalena de Kino with a guided tour of its landmarks and dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 3: Magdalena de Kino

We will travel to Cucurpe to visit the abandoned mission of Cucurpe. After returning to Magdalena de Kino for lunch, we will tour the crypt of Father Kino, Chapel of San Francisco Javier, Plaza Juarez, and a nearby mission. Dinner will be enjoyed at a local restaurant.

Day 4: Magdalena de Kino - Hermosillo

Early breakfast precedes a visit to the municipal cemetery and mausoleum of Luis Donaldo Colosio. We will depart for Hermosillo, with an approximate arrival at the airport at 2 pm.
