Embark on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of the Dominican Republic with our day trip to Saona Island, where you can also visit the Chavón River.

Day Trip Details

We'll pick you up from your hotel at the indicated time, transporting you to the heart of the Dominican Republic. Our first stop is along the banks of the Chavón River, featuring a scenic 6-kilometer (3.7-mile) river walk, allowing you to immerse yourself in the local fauna, including the rhinoceros iguana.

Next, we'll sail to the mouth of the Chavón River and navigate the Caribbean Sea to explore the Atlantis Princess, an ancient sunken freighter perfect for snorkeling. Afterward, we'll head to a nearby sandbank for another snorkeling experience.

We will proceed to Saona Island, known as one of the Dominican Republic's most beautiful destinations. You will have approximately three hours of free time to enjoy the beach, swim in crystal-clear waters, and relax under palm trees.

Enjoy a buffet lunch at a beachside restaurant with options including Arab rice, pasta, vegetables, fried chicken, grilled pork chops, and green salad.

After lunch, we'll search for turtles on Saona Island, one of the world's largest sandbanks. The final stop will be at Altos de Chavón, a Mediterranean-style village with stunning architecture and landscapes. At the end of the tour, we'll take you back to your hotel. The activity lasts between 9 and 11 hours in total.

If your hotel is located in either Casa de Campo or Bahia Principe La Romana, there is a supplement of 70 USD per person for hotel pickup, payable on the day of the tour.
