PADI Open Water Diving Course

Day 1: Theory & practice in confined waters

Pickup at 8:30 am from your hotel in Punta Cana to the diving center. The day includes basic theory on diving techniques, equipment assembly, underwater navigation, oxygen tank use, mask clearing, and underwater communication tips. Following the theory, practice occurs in a confined water area to familiarize yourself with the equipment.

Days 2 & 3: Open water dives

Over the next two days, a total of four open water dives will be conducted. Participants will explore the Caribbean seabed, testing skills learned previously while moving comfortably in a wetsuit. The dives include opportunities to see starfish, hawksbill sea turtles, seahorses, tropical fish, and coral reefs. Upon completion, participants receive a PADI Open Water certificate.

Duration

The course lasts three days, with five and a half hours of lessons each day. There is an option to extend to four days with four hours of lessons per day.

Post dive, wait at least 24 hours before flying or visiting high-altitude areas.
