Santo Domingo Day Trip

Pass through the Santo Domingo colonial area on this tour, where you'll discover the legacy of the Columbus family and the main monuments of the oldest city in America.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off for Santo Domingo.

We'll visit the Los Tres Ojos grotto to see the freshwater lakes and cave. Then, we'll view the outside of the Columbus Lighthouse. Next, we'll stop outside the Presidential Palace and observe its neoclassical architecture before continuing to the historic center, Ciudad Colonial.

We'll enter the temple of Santa María de La Encarnación, home of the Cathedral Primada de America. Then, we'll stroll along the Calle de las Damas, viewing the first stone house in the New World, and visit the National Pantheon.

Next, we'll walk through the Plaza de España, enjoy views of the Ozama River, and visit the Alcázar de Colón. A buffet lunch with typical dishes and non-alcoholic drinks will follow in a historic restaurant. Afterwards, we'll visit the Malecón to see the Caribbean Sea.

Finally, we'll return you to your hotel, expected between 9 and 11.5 hours after pickup.

Tour with Aquarium Visit

This option includes a visit to the National Aquarium of the Dominican Republic, near the Malecón. You will see marine species, including sea turtles, sharks, and manta rays.

After the aquarium visit, we’ll return to your hotel in Santo Domingo.

Temporary Closures

The Alcazar de Colon will be closed on Mondays. We will have a panoramic tour of its exterior on that day. It will remain closed for remodeling until further notice, replaced by a tour of the Museum of the Royal Houses. Some museums may be closed for maintenance on Mondays, viewing them only from the outside.
