Santo Domingo Day Trip

Pass through the Santo Domingo colonial area on this tour, where you'll discover the legacy of the Columbus family and the main monuments of the oldest city in America.

Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Punta Cana and set off for Santo Domingo.

Firstly, we'll visit the Los Tres Ojos grotto to see the freshwater lakes and its cave. Then we'll see the outside of the Columbus Lighthouse, where the explorer's remains are said to be located.

Next, we'll stop outside the Presidential Palace before continuing our tour through the historic center of the city, Santo Domingo's Ciudad Colonial!

We'll enter the temple of Santa María de La Encarnación, visit the Cathedral Primada de America, and stroll along the Calle de las Damas, where we’ll view the first stone house built in the New World. Afterwards, we'll visit the inside of the National Pantheon, where prominent figures of the Dominican Republic are laid to rest.

Next, we'll walk through the Plaza de España and see the Alcázar de Colón. Make sure to snap some photos of the interior!

We'll then enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in the historic centre, including typical dishes and non-alcoholic drinks. After refueling, we'll head towards the Malecón for a view of the Caribbean Sea.

Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel, expected to arrive between 9 and 11.5 hours after pickup.

Tour with Aquarium Visit

With this option, we'll visit the National Aquarium of the Dominican Republic, located next to the Malecón. There, we'll see dozens of marine species, including sea turtles and the tunnel with sharks and manta rays.

At the end of the visit to the aquarium, we'll return to your hotel in Santo Domingo.

Temporary Closures

The Alcazar de Colon will be closed on Mondays. On this day, we will take a panoramic tour of its exterior.

The Alcazar de Colon will also be closed for remodeling until further notice. During this period, we will substitute it with a tour of the Museum of the Royal Houses. Some museums may be closed for maintenance on Mondays, in which case we will only see them from the outside.
