Hiroshima Castle and Itsukushima Shrine are key landmarks included in this tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
Description
Meet us at Hiroshima Station to begin a bus journey exploring the history of Japan. During the ride, view the modern reconstruction of Hiroshima Castle, originally destroyed by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945.
We will arrive at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial for a half-hour tour, where you will see the memorial park that honors the victims of this World War II event, including the Genbaku Dome.
After the tour, enjoy a traditional lunch to taste okonomiyaki, a typical Japanese cake.
Next, travel to Miyajimaguchi Pier to board a ferry to Miyajima Island. Once there, explore Itsukushima Shrine, the Great Torii Gate, the Goju-no-to Pagoda, and the Toyokuni Temple.
You will have one hour of free time on Omotesando Street to explore additional attractions in Miyajima. Experience the uniqueness of this place at your own pace.
Finally, return to the pier for the ferry back to Hiroshima, where a bus will take you to the main station, concluding the tour.
Important
If the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is closed, we will visit the Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims instead.
