Do you want to discover the art of calligraphy? Find out all the secrets of this unique style of writing with a Japanese Calligraphy Workshop in Miyajima. Plus, you'll have the chance to wear a traditional kimono!

Japanese Calligraphy Workshop

Japanese calligraphy is a form of artistic writing dating back to the 6th century. To discover the art, we'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in a 300-year-old Zen temple.

Once inside, we'll provide you with a bamboo brush and black ink. You will choose a kanji from the options available. Over 30 minutes, you'll learn to write your name in Japanese letters in a calming environment and practice the kana calligraphy style to sign your work.

We'll conclude the workshop approximately 30 minutes later.

Rent a Kimono

You have the option to rent a traditional Japanese kimono while participating in the calligraphy workshop. We'll meet at the designated time, and you'll have 30 minutes to select your outfit and prepare before the class.

Depending on your selected option, we'll meet at the following times:

Calligraphy class: 10:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pmCalligraphy class + kimono rental: 10 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm
