Japanese Calligraphy Workshop
Japanese calligraphy is a form of artistic writing dating back to the 6th century. The workshop takes place at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in a 300-year-old Zen temple. Participants will start by choosing a bamboo brush and dipping it in black ink, followed by selecting a writing system: kana or kanji. You will learn to write your name in Japanese letters in a calming environment.
The duration of the workshop is approximately one hour, including 30 minutes of instruction.
Rent a kimono
Participants have the option to rent a traditional Japanese kimono while attending the workshop. There will be 30 minutes prior to the class to select an outfit and prepare.
Schedule
Meeting times are as follows:
Tour without kimono: starts at 10 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.Tour with kimono: starts at 10:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:30 pm.
