Miyajima Japanese Cultural Experience

When booking, you can choose a cultural experience with 2 or 3 activities. They all start at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima.

2 activities experience

If you choose this option, you'll enjoy two experiences, selecting from a Japanese calligraphy workshop, an amulet workshop, or a tea ceremony. Each activity lasts 30 minutes.

Upon arrival at the academy, the cultural immersion begins. During the first 30 minutes, assistance is provided to put on a traditional kimono before starting the activities.

In the calligraphy workshop, you will learn to write your name using Japanese characters. The craft workshop will teach you about the making of traditional Japanese amulets. The tea ceremony will reveal the symbolism behind each gesture in this ritual. The activities conclude 1.5 hours later.

3 activities experience

If you prefer an even more complete experience, this option is ideal. After donning kimonos, you will participate in all three cultural workshops. The total experience will conclude 2 hours later.
