Miyajima Japanese Tea Ceremony

We'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima. Here in this cultural space, located in an ancient Zen temple, we'll learn all the ins and outs of a traditional tea ceremony. Known as sadou, this ritual involves the preparation and presentation of matcha. There are several phases, from the utensil preparation to the preparation of the tea, the bows, and the final tasting. We'll explain the important symbolism of each gesture and how every detail counts. After admiring how the whole process is carried out, you'll prepare your own tea.

The activity will end 30 minutes later.

Rent a Kimono

You also have the option to rent a traditional Japanese kimono. We'll meet up at the indicated time, and you'll have 30 minutes to choose your outfit and get ready. Then, you'll start the tea ceremony, which finishes 1 hour later.
