Miyajima Japanese Tea Ceremony

We'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in an ancient Zen temple, to learn about a traditional tea ceremony. Known as sadou, this ritual involves the preparation and presentation of matcha. It includes several phases, from utensil preparation to tea preparation, bows, and final tasting. We'll explain the important symbolism of each gesture and how every detail counts.

After observing the process, you'll prepare your own tea, recalling all the steps you have learned. The activity will last 30 minutes.

Rent a Kimono

You can also rent a traditional Japanese kimono. We'll meet at the indicated time, providing 30 minutes to choose your outfit and get ready. The tea ceremony will then begin, finishing 1 hour later.
