Miyajima Japanese Tea Ceremony
We'll meet at the Okeiko Japan Academy in Miyajima, located in an ancient Zen temple. Here, we'll learn the details of a traditional tea ceremony known as sadou. This ritual involves the preparation and presentation of matcha, covering phases from utensil preparation to tea preparation, bows, and tasting. Each gesture's important symbolism will be explained.
After observing the process, you'll prepare your own tea, remembering the steps learned. The activity will end 30 minutes after it begins.
Rent a Kimono
You can also rent a traditional Japanese kimono. We will meet at the designated time, allowing 30 minutes to choose your outfit and get ready. The tea ceremony will then start and will conclude 1 hour later.
