Port Arthur and Richmond Day Trip

At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Hobart. We’ll board a minibus and begin our journey, passing by Government House and the iconic Tasman Bridge over the Derwent River, before heading into the Coal River Valley. In this region, we'll explore the local wine country and visit the historic Richmond Bridge.

We’ll continue towards the Tasman Peninsula, featuring lush bushland, wildlife, and coastal landscapes. We’ll pass through the cliffs of Doo Town, arriving at Tasman National Park in Pristine Pirates Bay, known for its dramatic coastline and rock formations.

Next, we’ll visit Port Arthur for a guided tour of this historic site. You can explore with an audio guide. You’ll have five hours to discover this UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting the Interpretation Center, Penitentiary, Commandant's House, Harbor Church, and Port Church.

After Port Arthur, we’ll board a boat for a cruise through Carnarvon Bay to the Island of the Dead, discussing its history as a convict burial site.

Upon returning to Port Arthur, you'll have free time for lunch. We recommend visiting Tasmania’s Chocolate Foundry for a treat.

Finally, we’ll return to your hotel in Hobart, arriving approximately 9 hours after the tour begins.
