See famous grizzly bears in their natural habitat through this bear sighting activity, which includes a plane ride to reach them!
Grizzly Bear Spotting
The tour begins next to Lake Beluga, where participants will board a minibus to Homer Airport for a flight to the bear sighting area. The flight lasts between one hour and one and a half hours, depending on the bear location, providing views of glaciers and volcanoes.
Upon landing, the exploration of the area for bears commences. Katmai National Park has the largest protected grizzly bear population globally, making it ideal for sightings. Depending on the bears' location, participants may witness them socializing in the forest or fishing for salmon in rivers. Guides will ensure the best viewing locations for photography while respecting wildlife safety.
After approximately three hours of observation, participants will return to the plane for the journey back to Homer.
